Grandma's on the Bottle

Tens of thousands of them. Grandma Prisbey wasn't your average sweater, lunch and cookie kind of Grandma, she preferred bottles. So she whacked together a whole bunch of them and made a village.

Over a 1/3 acre lot in California Ma Prisbey built wells, walkways, and over 15 life size structures made from found objects. Really. More at Bottle Village.

MAN U T-SHIRTS NOW INDONESIA UNITE

Remember the horrendous Jakarta hotel bombings on our TV screens recently, how many of you knew someone that was meant to stay at the hotels on that day? I did. And we are so lucky she never went. What an atrocious experience for the locals and for us the paranoia keeps growing stronger, as I have so noticed.

Manchester United even cancelled their match there, street vendors were left with all this paraphernalia which they were unable to sell. BOLBAL, a local initiative has bought back the MU T-shirts and printed INDONESIAUNITE (a civil movement against terrorism) on the reverse side and have started selling them to raise funds! Great job guys, smart way of reusing the shirts and taking a stand against this inhumane global threat of violence.

PLANE HOSTEL

Converted into a Hostel, this old 747 was meant to be dumped and disused. Now converted into sleeping areas and even beds in the cockpit, it serves as a low-cost accommodation to many that visit Stockholm. Lounge areas, bigger bathrooms and LCD screens. They should have these at airports worldwide, oh if i was a kid again! See the rest here

OFF THE CHAIN

Chandeliers are not my thing, too decadent and showy. But Im kinda liking this, edgy, raw and rough-ish feel to a classic chandelier design. By Mexican-Brazilian artist, Carolina Fontoura. Seen at Ecofriend.
